This February a group of directors and managers from 12 top Russian travel agencies made their way to the Riviera Nayarit in order to explore one of Mexico’s booming destinations and assess the attractions offered by the area.

The “Fam Trip” (familiarization trip) as these events are known in the industry was conceived and organized by the Good Times Travel agency in coordination with the Convention´s and Visitors Bureau.

During their stay in Riviera Nayarit the visitors became acquainted with high-end luxury products, enjoyed the local gastronomy and leading restaurants, by visiting several of the local communities in the destination.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) together with the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) created a very complete itinerary that included tours to the Islas Marietas National Park and Sayulita Pueblo Mágico, plus an amazing whale watching experience in Banderas Bay.

The visiting agents visited the some of the area’s leading hotels and restaurant in Nueva Vallarta, Punta de Mita and Sayulita.

The visiting Russian travel agency reps gave the regions attractions, gastronomic offer and most importantly, it’s tourism service providers and local people a resounding seal of approval. They noted having been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the infrastructure, tourism products and warm welcome they received at every turn.

Riviera Nayarit has seen an increasing amount of Fam Trips to the area as the regions tourism and real estate boom continue to attract tourism from further afield. The current 2018/19 season has seen hotels and vacation rental accommodation across Vallarta-Nayarit reach record occupancy rates. This demand has generated a knock off effect in all tourism related services benefiting the local economy. The CVB and real estate association AMPI are confident the boom will continue well into the 2020 holiday season and beyond.
